A man was robbed, set on fire and left to die inside the trunk of his burning car. Memphis, have we gone MAD! I know crime is a problem here but PLEASE! Three robbers doused 38-year-old Kelvin Cooper with gasoline, locked him in the trunk of a car, then set him on fire. This happened around 4:00 p.m. in Oakhaven near Winchester and Tchulahoma in the Highbridge Condos where the victim was found.  It’s a rundown complex where half the units are vacant or boarded up. Cooper had burns on his upper body and and on his face.  He was able to talk some and gave as much information as he could to investigators.

The burned out car was discovered next to an empty row of units in the rear of the property, parked near a giant pile of trash and old furniture. Witnesses saw the suspects set the car on fire and leave the scene. Cooper was taken to The MED in critical condition and later died.

In Little Rock, 28-year-old Michael Palmer and his 2-year-old daughter, Hannah Dowdie were found dead in a burning pickup. Their bodies were burned beyond recognition, and the identification is tentative pending results of DNA testing. One of the bodies was in the passenger compartment and one in the bed of the pickup. No cause of death has been released.
